Description

The black rat can measure up to 20 centimetres and its tail is longer than its body. Its coat is dark grey to brown, lighter on the bottom of its body, It is an omnivore and feeds on seeds, fruit and sometimes the eggs and chicks of certain birds. This is a invasive species and the female can have between three and six litters per year with more than ten individuals in each one.
